School History

(Formerly known as Abang-Suizo Elementary School)

Abang-Suizo Elementary School is in Brgy. Buenaflor, City of Tacurong. It is one of the nearest public elementary schools to the City Schools Division Office. It is situated in the Northern part of the city proper. The school is under the North Tacurong District of the City Schools Division of Tacurong.

The idea of the school's establishment was brought about when there was a big problem of overcrowding of school children at Tacurong Pilot Elementary School in 1981. The municipal government of Tacurong, under the leadership of Hon. Mayor Jose Q. Barroquillo, Jr. paid great attention to this problem by bringing it up in their municipal session.

To address the problem, the municipal board has resolved to look for a school site and put up a school. Also, it was agreed that the late Hon. Ponciano Dable, one of the members of the board, would solicit from the heir of Andres and Rosalina Abang, Mrs. Teresita Suizo. The solicitation for the donation of one and a half hectares of land was granted.

The municipal board's next move then was to seek government assistance for the construction of the school building from the provincial government under the administration of Hon. Gov. Benjamin C. Duque. The provincial government has immediately answered this by giving out financial assistance for the construction of three classrooms of which the fund was taken from the provincial SEF. The school was named ABANG-SUIZO PRIMARY SCHOOL in honor of the site donor.

Abag-Suizo Primary school was formally and officially turned over to the ministry of Education Culture and Sports (MECS) on September 10, 1982, the Schools Division Superintendent at that time was the late Mr. Dulangan M. Abid. During the turning over, Hon. Gov. Benjamin C. Duque, the late Supt. Dulangan M. Abid, supervisors Mrs. Magdalena C. Andang, Mr. Procopio Cañoso, Mrs. Nenita Kapunan, municipal officials, and people in the community were present.
